Composition: Each vial contains: Ceftriaxone Sodium (sterile) IP equivalent to Ceftriaxone 125 mg / 250 mg / 500 mg / 1.0 g, Tazobactum Sodium equivalent to Tazobactum 15.625 / 31.25 / 62.5 / 125 mg.
Indications: Pneumonia,septicaemia, meningitis, bone/skin and soft tissue infections, infections in neutropenic patients, gonorrhoea, peri-operative prophylaxis of infections associated with surgery.
Adverse events: Diarrhoea, nausea and vomiting.
Contra-indications: Hypersensitivity to ceftriaxone, tazobactam or to any of thecephalosporins / penicillins.
Precautions: Caution be observed in patients with other allergic diseases/history of gastrointestinal disease, particularly colitis, in premature babies. Dosage adjustment required in severe renal impairment accompanied by hepatic insufficiency.
Dosage and administration: Adults and children above 12 years of age - Ceftriaxone 1.0 g once daily maximum up to 4.0 g in case of severe infections. Infants and children up to 12 years - Ceftriaxone 20-80mg/kg/day once daily, Neonates- Ceftriaxone 20-50mg/kg/day.
